Silence Ain't Always Golden!

The silence during the off-season from Lakeville has lead to some interesting rumors and even some flat out lies. Sure, keeping things quiet can lead people to think/guess the worst and that's to be expected to some extent. I can't and don't blame many racers and fans for being concerned as it hasn't been made perfectly clear yet why things have been so quiet. Many racers and fans have been in contact with me and although I can't give complete details yet, I've told them all basically the same thing. I'm still here for Lakeville Speedway for a reason. If it was the lost cause that many want you to believe it is, my winter would have been much less stressful because I would have simply bailed and enjoyed my time off. That's obviously not the case though. The time to release all the details folks are looking for still isn't here yet, but I thought it was time to try once more to calm the nerves of the folks reading some of the bullshit posted online. I chose to use my own site instead of the Lakeville site because this information and the opinions included are coming directly from me, nobody else. Meaning, if you don't like something I say here, take it up with me personally instead of bashing Lakeville Speedway for it. My email address is on this website. Web forums aren't the place to handle things unless you lack the courage to talk things out personally by email or phone at the very least. I'm not hard to get along with, honest.

It never really surprises me much when I'm told of ovdtr members going to their forums to spread false information or to simply bash Lakeville. Some even go out of their way to post in the sections of other tracks on that site to bash Lakeville. It doesn't take a genius to question their motives in doing so. Sure there's people out there that would rush to a forum to complain if Lakeville was to pass out free $50 bills at the gate, because a "real track" would give away $50 bills AND free hot dogs too. There are others out there though with a darker agenda and it's really not hard to track down the source. I'll discuss those folks on this site when the time comes but many of you already know who these people are.

Now, to try to explain the silence from Lakeville during the off-season. As I've told those that have actually contacted me for information, there's a very good reason for the silence, and it will be clear when all the details become public. I'm not one to typically keep my mouth shut like this, but I can tell you that it's only in the best interest of the track and racing in general. I'm sure as hell not one to cover for anybody, and you can call Ernie Coffman for confirmation of that if you'd like. I'm also not about to try to lead anybody into thinking everything is sunshine and roses and Lakeville right now. It's clearly not. I can say however that efforts are being made put things in place as quickly as possible and if I didn't honestly think the outcome would be worth it for the future of the track, I'd sure as hell been gone months ago. I can't even begin to guess when final details will be made public because it's currently in much bigger hands than mine at the moment. I can say that as of recent days/weeks things are moving forward at a more positive pace. I can't tell how long the tunnel is, but I can begin to see some light at the end finally.

I, along with Lakeville Speedway would like to publicly thank those of you that have remained positive and supported this track and others in times like this. Great racers and fans always seem to show their true colors when it counts. THANKYOU! To those of you that insist of bashing and spreading false statements in a public forum, I only have one bit of advice. I've refrained from publicly posting true facts about the situation at Lakeville due to the consequences that may bring. Just imagine what consequences your actions may bring. If somebody made a public effort to tell people my own business was "dead" it sure as hell wouldn't be settled in some online forum.
