Forced Into Retirement
Posted on Sunday, September 28 @ 00:42:41 MST by Bob

DFC Racing For the first time in the history of DFC Racing we weren't able to run the Dirt Blowout weekend at Lakeville. It's a shame since it's our favorite event of the season and we always seem to run well there but it just wasn't meant to be this time. It seems the track officials didn't think it would be fair to the competiton to let ol' smokey out there clouding up the entire track and I would have to agree. The smoke was worse than ever and it was just too much to ask to let us run with them anyway. I must say that unlike "other track owners" they were more than happy to refund our entry fee and completely understood our situation. That's what happens when racers own race tracks I guess. Classy move guys! We did stick around to see the little action they got in before the rains moved in. That just made us want to be out there on the track even worse but we'll just have to wait til next year I guess. Rumor has it they will be running our class every week next season at Lakeville so hopefully we'll be able to sneak down there at least a couple of times.

Now that we're done, we'll finally get to take ol' smokey apart and see what the hell is going on in there. I've been waiting for that for quite a while now. I guess it doesn't really matter what we find since we'll be starting from scratch for next season but I just gotta know dammit. It's hard to believe but it's already time to get the car torn down and put away before the snow starts flying. That sucks!

It's been another fun and exciting season and we must thank all of our sponsors once again for making it all possible. We'd also like to thank our fellow racers out there for helping to make this season so much fun. It's great to work with, and race against such a decent group of people. Thanks folks! Anyway, just because the racing season is over doesn't mean that we're closing up shop here on the site. I'm still working on a new version of the site and may even get it put together over the winter. Our guestbook is also a good way to keep in touch, and once we get started on next season's car, there will of course be pics and updates in the rebuilding section. We're also looking into getting a few folks together to do some online racing during the off-season so if you're interested, let me know. That's all for now folks. Keep in touch!!
