Progress on the new car has been kinda slow so far, but a few things are off the list now. I hope to round up some more parts in the next couple of weeks so I can get a few other things checked off, before putting it away for a while. I've managed to keep myself busy with other things lately and really haven't had as much time as I wanted to spend on the car. This working for a living is a bitch! I finally made time for the trip down to Hilltop Speedway on Friday though. Those folks sure have their work cut out for them but they're busting ass to get things ready by spring. At the rate they're going, I think they might just pull it off. Let's hope so! I also made time to help an old friend this weekend with his asphalt (yuck) car. Mike Miller is getting ready to put his car away for the winter and I gave him a hand yanking the motor out and getting it ready for the trip to the shop. For those who don't know, Mike has been one of the top names in the area for years in a super late model on pavement. Don't hound him too bad about being an asphalt guy though. Afterall, his dad was the track champion at WCS in 1966! I've tried for years to get him to play on the dirt, but no luck. He seems to like working on a nice clean car too much or something. ;-) He does come out to watch us play in the dirt sometimes though, so maybe one night we'll stuff him in a car and let him have some real fun. Anyway, hope to see some of you folks out at the swap meet. I'll be there looking for those "end of the season" deals!
