Back To Racing??

Now that the family festivities are over for now, it's time to get back to racing I guess. I must say even though I had some serious withdrawl symtpoms, I sure enjoyed the time off with my family, as hectic as it was. It gave me some time to think more about why I enjoy racing, and the parts that aren't so enjoyable any more. From now on, I'll be a bit more picky about where and how I spend my racing dollars and time. That being said, I can't wait to get back out the track! Now, if Mother Nature would only let that happen, we could all have some fun.

Speaking of fun, it sure sounds like Denny Shear had some fun down at Hilltop Speedway last weekend. Not only did he pick up the heat race win, but he battled for the win in the feature, only to come up one spot short. KICKASS job Denny!! Sounds like you might have found a new home. ;-) Let's hope the fun continues and you get that feature win soon.

You have to hand it to the folks at Hilltop too for doing whatever it took to make sure they got the show in last week. While other tracks seem too eager sometimes to call the races off, Hilltop has sure as hell impressed me so far with their determination to put on a show. Way to go guys! Even Lakeville has seemed to pick up on their attitude and rescheduled last week's rainout for Monday. It's great to see a race track do what they can to make sure we all get our "racing fix" each week. After all, we have plenty of time during the winter to find other stuff to do on the weekends. Keep up the great work folks!

One last note, it looks like at least one of the Holmes family is ready to get back on the track soon. Paul has his car ready to go and he planned on trying out Hilltop on Friday before the rains came. If he can pick up where he left off last year, he should have one hell of a season this year. Now we just need the "old man" to get back out there soon!!
