Way To Go Pure Stocks!

When Hilltop Speedway increased the payout and made the Pure Stocks the headliners for the night, I don't suppose anybody knew exactly what to expect. Car count on Fridays have usually been a bit light in the Pure Stocks, but not this week. The huge crowd was treated to 25 Pure Stocks from all over the area, and they put on one hell of a show. It's a shame that a few of the fastest ones there had trouble in the feature, but it was still a great show. It would be awesome to see that size field or more out there each week. The rest of the classes put on a great show too, as always, and I don't think many folks were sitting down for any of the features. Denny Shear had a strong run all night and rookie Jeff Facemire looked like he's starting to like that car of his a bit more every lap. Jeff not only made it to the feature by finishing 4th in the heat race, but turned some damn nice laps later in the night as well. There's still plenty of season left for him to get completely comfortable in the car and get even faster. That should be fun to watch. Don't forget that this Friday is Kid's Night at Hilltop. From the sound of things, this should be the best Kid's Night any track has had in many, many years.

For those of you looking for a mid-week racing fix, be sure to head to Lakeville this Wednesday night. Tom's Salvage presents the second leg of the Triple Crown Series for Super Stocks, Mini Trucks, Mini Stocks, and Classic Cruisers. Gates open at 5:30, practice is at 7:00, and racing action starts at 7:30. General admission is only $5.00! Kids under 14 get in free. Pit passes are $25. Hot dogs and sodas are only $.75 each. See ya there!
