Hey Bob, got any ideas why a car misfires if you have changed the plugs, wires, fuel line, fuel pump, changed fuel filters, adjusted the carb(bought new one)...?

Depending on the time and type of the miss, it could be a few different things. What I call a miss is a symptom that seems like a weak or nonfunctional cylinder. That rules out the fuel system by that definition because on a carb motor, none of the fuel system controls individual cylinders. That leaves you with ignition and valve train systems to look at. If you're sure the cap, rotor, wires, and plugs are alright, it's time to check the valve adjustment and components (rockers and push rods) next. If all is well there, you'll need to run a compression check to find the problem cylinder. One other note, without knowing the whole system, it's hard to diagnose it this way, but these are the basic things to look for in any case. If you need more detailed help, feel free to call me so I'll have more info to work with. 330-608-2221.
